It is finished...

Well...Well...Well... it is finished!!! Paul went back to court November 19th to let the judge know that the evicities had left a deck behind. The judge gave them 10 more days to remove it. And on Sunday...December 1, we finally got to burn the deck. Never mind that the dude that was suppose to come get it delayed, missed the first and second deadline, and finally the deck became legally ours as of November  the 29th. And dude still wanted it, so we gave him 2 more days, Saturday morning, or Sunday morning, and he was a no show. So at 10 am Sunday, December 1, papa burnt the deck. IT WAS A BEAUTIFUL THING!!!

I would love to share the photo, but alas... I do not know how to post it on my blog. Sorry. It is still a BEAUTIFUL THING!!!

Update... I learned how to upload photos... hee hee hee

Black Friday is almost here

Well... Papa did the research, checked the adds, and has our shopping day planned. I have been wanting a flat screen TV for the bedroom... a shop vac for the mess around the wood stove... a WiFi printer for my laptop... and I think he wants TOOLS!!!

I do work at Weight Watchers in the morning, so I can't pull an all nighter... but at 6 pm I need to be at Walmart for my TV, printer, and shop vac.

Today and tomorrow are all that is left of the deadline to remove that ratty old falling apart deck from our property. Papa got a text last night from the dude that is supposed to come get it asking permission to get it today. So last night papa tells dude to be here early in the morning while the ground is still frozen. Well... dude is still a no show... and now it is time to get on with the rest of our day. OH WELL...

Boy oh boy it's cold outside.

The wood is split, the wood stove is burning, the house is cozy... I am right where I wanna be... Only trouble is, I will have to be leaving later on today. Gunna help papa load up our old 5 ton truck and haul it off to the scrap yard. Freedom Metals in Elizabethtown is pay $205 per ton. We need BLACK FRIDAY money. hee hee hee . I am just not looking forward to going out in the cold.

Leland has his heat lamp running 24/7 now. It is to cold, even during the day, for him to be without his heat lamp. I will end up having to put a heating element in his water dish to keep the water from freezing. He sometimes drinks out of the pond, but it will eventually freeze over.

Things around here are just about back to normal. It is kinda weird to come home and find out that no one has stolen anything from us. Weird, I tell ya.

Counting today... 3 more days to THE DECK BURNING. We might wait and burn it Saturday.

Busy weekend...and cold!!!

Paul and I spent all day yesterday out in the ministry. We were working with an inactive one... Once that person stopped for the day...on we went. Time is of the essence. I am grateful that we were working country territory so that we had a little vehicle time inbeween houses...burrrrrr... that wind was cold.

The nice thing about just Paul and I in the car group is to be able to talk about things, our lives, our plans, stuff we need to catch up on... blah blah blah. We determined that our first order of business is to finish loading up and hauling to the scrap yard all remaining junk. After that, the work of getting his shop back in order... Most of his tools for the shop had to be moved out and stored at Friends' places to keep 'family' from stealing it or damaging it.

6 more days till THE DECK BURNING

Work instead of play.

I am filling in for a co-worker who has an ill elderly father. I turned down a trip to NY to do this. I love NY. I love NYC... I could live there. I decided, whilst on our anniversary trip to Brooklyn, that there are three things I learned about NYC.

1. Don't worry about bumping into people when walking, they're used to it.
2. Drive like you meant it.
3. I would fit right in...those people are CRAZY.

7 more days till the DECK BURNING

Where did all the time go???

Is it just me??? Where did all the time go??? So busy... so much to do... so little time to do it in... seriously?!?!?!? Where did all the time go???

We have plans to do this... no time!!! We have plans to do that...no time!!! Oh, and where did all the money go???

These past few months have been a strain on our family. Paul had to take time off from his business to deal with the drama of getting rid of William Busse from the company and the removal of the Busse family from our property. Not to mention, it was a drain financially...

No worries though... Jehovah promises that if we seek first the kingdom... so that is all we can do. I am counting on Jehovah to take care of us... Only... Does he have to wait till the very last minute??? ;-)

8 MORE DAYS TIL THE DECK BURNING!!!

Wide Open Spaces

I had to admit... my walk with Leland yesterday, twice, was so refreshing... As we walked up the hill, I noticed the absence... aaahhh... no neighbours, no pesty dogs, just wide open spaces... Where there used to be a junky trailer...NOTHING. Where there used to be cars and campers and playground equiptment and swimming pools and campers and boats and ATV'S and... and... and... NOTHING.

Giving credit where credit is due... Paul admitted, and I later saw what he was talking about... when the Busses left, they took their trash with them, and for the most part, they did clean up after themselves. Our clean up will be minimal.

9 more days to a DECK BURNING!!!

Need more activity.

When I am at home, that sometimes seems to be the hardest time for me to get my activity in. Now that we share our property with no one... no one... Leland and I are going to get into a routine of walking to the top of our hill and back. It only takes 7 minutes to walk to the top, but it's... well... up hill. By the time I get to the top, my heart is pounding and I can't feel my muscles in my legs.

Eviction notice

Well... as of November 15, 2013 the deadline of the eviction notice has come and gone. Due to circumstances that were unexceptionable, we had to evict Paul's cousin and her husband and family from our property that they had been living on, rent free, for 10 years. The judge had told both parties, us and the Busse's that if she didn't see any one back on November 19, 2013 that all parties had adhered to the 30 eviction notice.

Well... the Busse family was long gone before the 15th, but they left their dilapidated single wide trailer behind. It had been given to someone, who I didn't want on our property in the first place, and he had until Nov 15 to come and get it. He did come and get it by borrowing the neighbors tractor and skid loader. In the process of getting the trailer out, they ripped the water line out of the ground!!! It was just hanging and being drug behind the trailer!!! Paul anticipated this and had shut the pump to our well off before we left that morning.

Moving the trailer proved to be more difficult than 'they' thought and we came home about midnight to a blocked road. Paul helped them, I went to bed. We gave them a verbal notice to have the deck of the trailer removed by Nov 15th as well. And wouldn't you know it, the 15th came and went and they had not came after the deck.

Prior to the deadline, Paul took his tractor and blocked the road with a huge tree and put dirt all around it so that no one can drive up the other driveway without us knowing. He text the dude informing of the road closure and that when he was ready to come get the deck to let us know. Well... no show on getting the deck. So after the deadline, the dude that was supposed to come get the deck calls and says he wants the deck. We are out in the ministry and can't get home. He says that he's gunna get the skid loader and unblock the road. Paul says that wouldn't be a good idea. Well he wants to get it before the rains sets in. Paul says he can't be on our property without us there. He says he's going anyway!!! Time to call the State Police!!!

After it was all said and done, the officer who came out to our place saw the deck and says that if 'dude' comes and gets it without our permission, he can be arrested for Criminal Trespass.

So court today was to inform the judge that the Busses didn't vacate the premisses by the 15th in that they left the deck behind. So legally, they have 10 more days to come get the deck, then the judge says we can treat it as though it is our own. WE ARE GUNNA HAVE A BIG FIRE!!! A DECK FIRE!!!

Leland and I had our Freedom

Today... Leland, who has always had to be inside his fenced area do to the neighbour dogs, got to walk freely with me to the top of the hill today... on our own property. I didn't have to worry about Leland trying to kill the unfenced, therefore uncontrollable neighbour dogs, and when we got back from our walk, I left him loose. No danger there... into the house he came. I do have a gate up so that Leland can't get past the mud room. It's just for show... he could just breath on in and knock it down.

My first blog

As of November 15, 2013... Freedom... On our own property... 80 acers that we have shared with numerous people throughout the 17 years that we have owned the place and never had any say so on what went on. But now... yep... all ours... IJS
